Reading Habits DURING children
If my wife sees someone lamenting the state of their reading and they have young kids, she will say, "Oh, you're in the magazine-part of your life." When they ask what she means she will tell them the most they can hope to read is part of an article in a magazine. She herself doesn't remember the last time she read a full anything.

Best case is to just let it go. On the good side there are lots of funny and interesting books made for kids. Of course you have all of the classics, like Suess or Silverstien. But then you have some new minds like Harold Munsch or my personal favorite Chris Van Dusen. Van Dusen's If I Built series of books find a magic blend of art and writing. Love, love, love those books.

And then of course when the kids get a bit older then there is a whole new world waiting for you. The Potter books.
