SCHOOL MOM (goes into sneezing fit)
Achoo! Achoo! (Blows nose loudly)
BELLA
Allergies?
SCHOOL MOM
Yes, the oak pollen has been horrible.
BELLA
I know exactly what you're going through. I don't think that I've had a nice long bike ride in the past month.
SCHOOL MOM
You're a cyclist?
BELLA
Yeah, I do long distance bike riding.
SCHOOL MOM
I run, but have trouble going long distances. Do you have any suggestions or advice?
BELLA
I would say pace yourself, but one of the reasons that I feel everyone can be successful is because once you've developed the muscles you'll be able to bike or run any amount of distance.
SCHOOL MOM
I've always had trouble pacing myself, but thank you for the advice. So how do you celebrate after a long bike ride?
BELLA
My dad and I usually go out to celebrate by going to Smoothie King or by going out for a father daughter date.
SCHOOL MOM
Your father is still alive? Mine passed away five years ago.
BELLA
I'm sorry to hear that, but my father is still very much alive. He's in his 40's.
SCHOOL MOM
Wait, if you don't mind me asking how old was he when you were born?
BELLA
I believe that he was in his 30's, I'm 14.
SCHOOL MOM (bends at the waist cackling)
Oh my god. I thought that you were my age.
BELLA (laughing with her)
Unless you're fourteen too, I don't think so.
bella has always presented older than she is. over the last few years she has repeatedly been mistaken for a college student, in part due to our proximity to a university. if she's already aged out of college though and joining the ranks of grown moms, this ride could start getting extra interesting, extra fast.
after she told me about it later in the night i said that would be a great troyScript and that she should type it up and send it to me. so i'm proud to share bella's first full troyscript done all on her own. given her knack for conversation, i seriously doubt it will be her last.
