if asked to give a theme to this year's dad days it would be 'leisure'. previous years dad days were driven with a sort of frenetic-ness to fit everything in. now we take a whole day to spread out and relax and calmly go from point to point with no hustle or worry as evidenced best be the image above. part of bella's dad day involved going to a used book store that's in a great old house and just wandering the aisles for over an hour (and a $25 stipend to spend). perusing bookstore shelves is something i remember doing before having kids for hours on end and something i very rarely get or take the time to do anymore. re-experiencing it with bella informs me this choice is a mistake.
