anthony's first few years in school, pre-school that is, were a bit tumultuous, mostly for his teachers. there was the time in the first week of school he switched classes because he saw something more interesting happening in the room they walked by than the one he was part of. since it was the first week of school it took the teachers awhile to (a) figure out he wasn't part of this class and then (b) to figure out which class he was supposed to be part of. then later in the school year, after he had been told switching classes wasn't allowed, when he became disenchanted with the day's material, he left the class and the building altogether and started walking home. the only thing that kept him from making it the full way was alert mom in the neighborhood who spotted a five year old walking down the street.
so, as we were saying, anthony's entry into school had its bumps and he frazzled many a pre-school teacher, except for miss amy. she was his favorite and seeing the sparkle in her eye when she'd see him, i think she enjoyed anthony quite a bit as well. truth told, miss amy might be the only reason anthony successfully completed his time at this neighborhood school.
