i don't really have anything to say about this photo other than i really like it.

for any curious of its origin, i took it while standing to the left of the lincoln memorial in the dc mall. what pains me about this monument is that 99.999999 percent of photos taken of it are all the same. we all know what it, what he, what the statue of a stern looking man sitting in his blocky chair appearing smart looks like. but how many of you knew that for all this time this totally cool ceiling sat above him, protecting him from the elements and pigeon and duck and goose crap. i didn't know it was there until looking up (obviously) and finding myself more enamored by this canopy than i was in his person or his very uncomfortable looking chair.

i guess i did have something to say about this photo afterall. shocking. i still like it though.
