MARTY (turning in her seat towards bella)
bella, the radio isn't on.
BELLA
no, the volume of the talking in your mouth.

and only 797 miles to go. i must confess, i'm contorting the spirit of what happened here a bit. i mean, that exchange did take place though it was not at all surly in nature, as it somewhat sounds. instead bella was totally sincere in her request and because of this her comment sparked the first family guffaw in a week long trip that was rife with such jocular moments. |
