SETTING |
biking to school |
SCENE |
anthony and i had just dropped bella and alex off at school and were en route to his pre-school. we stopped at a red light at the one busy street we have to cross. i asked anthony to jump off his tag-along bike (which is connected to the back of the bike i was riding) and push the button. he climbed off his bike, ran to the pole, beeped the button two times, ran back and got back on. |
|
TROY
it's good you hit the button twice.
ANTHONY
why?
TROY
because that means we can bike across.
ANTHONY
oh.
TROY
if you hit three times it would mean we would have had to skip across the street.
ANTHONY
what?
TROY
and if you hit it seven times we would have had to do cart-wheels across the street.
ANTHONY
what? no.
TROY
yeah. even the little picture of the walking guy changes depending on how many times you hit the button.
ANTHONY
no it doesn't.
TROY
yeah. it does.
ANTHONY
what does one mean?
TROY
just walk across. that's what most people do.
ANTHONY
then next time, i'm just going to push it once and when the light turns red, i'm going to get off my bike and run across the street.
TROY
but i couldn't come because i have the bikes.
ANTHONY
right.
TROY
so what would i do?
ANTHONY
panic.

NOTE |
i have a feeling this journey with this one is going to get real memorable before it's all said and done. |
