BARBER DALE
so how are you doing today?
TROY
i'm good. i'm also exhausted but that's par for the course.
(a few moments pass)
TROY
my barber just moved to california.
BARBER DALE
oh. that's too bad.
TROY
yes it is. i'd been seeing him for twelve years.
BARBER DALE
are you going to go out to california too?
TROY
what? no. i mean he was good but damn, not california-good.
BARBER DALE
twelve years is a long time.
TROY
yeah, he was awesome.
BARBER DALE
so are you breaking up with him?
TROY
huh? no. he went out there to be with his wife.
BARBER DALE
wife! he's got a wife! and you're not going to break up with him? damn.
TROY
what!?!? no, we're both married.
BARBER DALE
oh man that makes things complicated.
TROY
huh?
BARBER DALE
things are hard all on their own even without having to deal with wives.
TROY
huh? oh! OH! no, you don't get it. we weren't dating. he was JUST my barber.
BARBER DALE
oh, i see. sorry about that.
TROY
yeah, don't sweat it. i get that every now and again.
