SCENE |
Marty and I were at one of Anthony's wrestling matches. We were standing, stretching our legs during a break. Marty reached above her, grabbing the stadium railings that were on the balcony seating positioned behind her, stretching her arms and body. Given her upraised hands and open torso, I turned toward her and pretended she were a punching bag, lightly bringing my clenched fist to her abdomen (which was suprisingly taut I’m compelled to add). |
|
MARTY
I think I could take the first two shots.
TROY
What?
MARTY
I think I could let you hit me twice for real.
TROY
In the stomach, like this? No way.
MARTY
Yeah way.
TROY
What? There’s just no way.
MARTY
You’ve never hit anyone and you’d have to build up the courage to do it. It would take a couple times before you could REALLY punch someone.
TROY
And you could?
MARTY
I had three older brothers. You couldn’t take my first hit.

NOTE |
It is these moments that reveal why I’ve been obsessed with AND rightfully fearful of this woman for the past 35 years. |
